Windsor Spitfires Move up in CHL Import Draft and Acquire Multiple Players and Picks in Deal with Frontenacs
(Windsor) The Windsor Spitfires today announced the acquisition of Kingston??s Nick Czinder, A.J. Jarosz, Kingston??s 1st Round CHL Import selection in 2010 (26th overall), Kingston??s 2nd Round Selection and 7th Round (conditional) Selection in the 2011 OHL Priority Selections in exchange for Windsor Spitfire goaltender Phillip Grubauer and Windsor??s 1st Round Selection (56th overall) in the 2010 CHL Import Draft.
??This trade helps our team today and in the future as we acquired 4 assets and also allows us to make a earlier selection in tomorrow??s CHL Import Draft, ?? commented General Manager Warren Rychel. ??Obviously we had a log jam of quality goaltenders and something had to give. Phillip was great for us in the playoffs and the Memorial Cup winning his remaining 12 consecutive games on route to this team winning our 2nd consecutive OHL and Memorial Cup Championships. We wish Phillip the best in Kingston and his pro career and were extremely excited to see his efforts rewarded on the weekend being selected by the Washington Capitals.?
Two of the key assets acquired by the Spitfires include that of prospects Nick Czinder who last season played with the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL and A.J. Jarosz who played last season with the Chicago Mission Major Midgets. ??I am very excited to add Czinder and Jarosz to the Spitfire organization which will help solidify our forward position as we have lost some key forwards to graduation.?
