Spirit acquire playing rights to Del Bel Belluz in deal with Sting
Saginaw, Mich. – The Saginaw Spirit have acquired the playing rights to former 40-goal-scorer Luca Del Bel Belluz from the Sarnia Sting in exchange for a conditional 15th round pick in the 2027 OHL Priority Selection.
A second round pick (44th overall) of the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2022, Del Bel Belluz is currently playing with the Cleveland Monsters (AHL). The Woodbridge, Ont. native has notched five points (2G, 3A) in his first six professional games in Cleveland.
In the 2022-2023 season, Del Bel Belluz split 66 games between the Mississauga Steelheads and Sarnia Sting, producing 40 goals and 47 assists for a career-high 87 points. In the playoffs with Sarnia, the left-shot forward was just shy of a point-per-game in 16 contests (8G-7A-15P).
In his OHL Career, Del Bel Belluz has skated in 192 regular season games, amassing 169 points (71G, 98A). He was drafted 51st overall by the Mississauga Steelheads in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection.
