GAME PREVIEW: Game 4 @ Owen Sound
Saginaw, Mich. — The second-seeded Saginaw Spirit (3-0) have a chance to close their series against the seventh-seeded Owen Sound Attack (0-3) at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Game 4 on Wednesday night.

The Saginaw Spirit took Game 1 of the opening round on March 28th, winning by a score of 6-4. Josh Bloom opened things up, scoring the first goal of the night just 52 seconds into the first period. Cedrick Guindon soon tied the game up at one apiece before Josh Bloom scored another goal to give Saginaw a 2-1 lead heading into the second period. Two Owen Sound goals from Declan Waddick and Deni Goure gave the Attack their first lead of the night. However, Rodwin Dionicio and Michael Misa scored two more Saginaw goals to earn back the lead. Hunter Haight scored twice in the third period, one on an empty net, to clinch the win for the Spirit. Konnor Smith scored a last-second goal for Owen Sound to end the game, 6-4. Attack rookie Carter George saved 40 of 45 shots on goal, while Andrew Oke stopped 24 of 27 for his first career playoff victory.
The Spirit took Game 2 as well by a score of 5-2 at the Dow Event Center on March 30th. Joey Willis scored his first goal of the playoff season with an additional goal coming from Josh Bloom in the first period. Owen Beck scored his first of the playoffs in the second alongside Jame Guo to make the score 4-0. James Petrovski scored the first goal of the night for Owen Sound to make the score 4-1 going into the third period. Ethan Burroughs scored another for the Attack but an empty netter from Michael Misa gave the Saginaw Spirit a 5-2 victory over the Owen Sound Attack. Carter George saved 32 of 36 shots, while Andrew Oke stopped 35 of 37 for his second playoff win.
Game 3 was held at Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre on April 1st which the Saginaw Spirit also won by a score 2-1. Nic Sima scored his first playoff goal late in the first to give Saginaw a 1-0 lead heading into the second period. Two goals coming from Colby Barlow and Joey Willis gave the Saginaw Spirit a 2-1 victory. Carter George stopped 40 of 42 shots, while Andrew Oke grabbed 24 of 25 shots for his third consecutive playoff victory.
Players to Watch:
Overager Josh Bloom has come away with at least one point in of the last three playoff games collecting three goals and two assists. If point streaks rolled over into the playoffs, Bloom would be on a 15-game point streak for a combined total of 27 points (12G, 15A). Montreal prospect Owen Beck leads the Spirit squad in points so far with a goal and five assists for 6 points, earning him last week’s spot as Cogeco OHL Player of the Week. Andrew Oke has been stellar in postseason play with a 2.33 GAA (third in the OHL), a .922 SV%, and three wins.
Cedrick Guindon leads Owen Sound in postseason scoring with a goal and three assists. He’s found the score sheet in each game so far this series. Colby Barlow broke through with a powerplay goal in Game 3 and is primed for an explosive Game 4 Wednesday night. Rookie Carter George has turned in a pair of 40 save performances in the postseason, sporting a .911 SV% and 3.77 GAA.
