Battalion edge Petes 3-1 on Family Day Monday
The Peterborough Petes lost a close one to the Brampton Battalion on Family Day Monday and saw the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors pass them in th standings of the Eastern Conference.
Derek Mathers opened the scoring on the first shot of the game for his 8th of the season at 3:01 of the first period, but that was the only goal the Petes would get as the Battalion closed out the first period with a goal at 19:13 and opened the scoring 1:29 into the second to hold a 2-1 lead until scoring into the empty net with 13 seconds remaining in the game.
Next action for the Petes is Thursday night when they host the Barrie Colts on $6 Student Night.
