Top 5 Playoff Moments from Games 1 & 2
After travelling to Hamilton for the first two games of their series with the Hamilton Bulldogs, the series shifts back to Peterborough for game three on Wednesday night. After two hard-fought games on the road, the Petes have produced a number of memorable moments to start off the series.
Here are the Top 5 Moments from Games 1 & 2:
1. D-Men Set The Tone Early
From the time the puck dropped in game one the Petes clearly had a plan to set the physical tone. Petes blue liners Konnor Smith and Shawn Spearing both laid big hits on Bulldogs forwards in the first three minutes of game one last Thursday night.
2. Keep that Puck, Dono!!
Early in the third period of game one, Petes defenceman Donovan McCoy recorded his first career OHL goal to try and spark a comeback for the maroon and white.
3. Old Dog, Not-So-New Tricks
After a disappointing game one loss, Joe Carroll sprung free for a breakaway early in game two to give the Petes the lead. Carroll is no stranger to the bright lights of the OHL playoffs as he has the most playoff experience of any player on either side of the series.
4. Simmer Down
Petes goaltender Michael Simpson did his best to fend off the Bulldogs attack making 50 saves in game two including this glove save on ‘Dogs captain Colton Kammerer.
5. Is it even a powerplay when Tucker is on the penalty kill?
After the Petes led the entire CHL in short-handed goals during the regular season, Tucker Robertson continued the trend by scoring another one early on in game two to extend Peterborough’s lead to 2-0.
