Premier Doug Ford to Join Special Olympian Chrystal Cochrane for Ceremonial Puck Drop on Thursday
Ontario Premier Doug Ford will join Peterborough Special Olympian Chrystal Cochrane, as well as Peterborough Police Service Chief Scott Gilbert, for a ceremonial puck drop ahead of Thursday’s game against the Owen Sound Attack at 7:05 pm at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
Ford will take in Special Olympics Night, an awareness campaign that is part of the ongoing commitment by the Ontario Hockey League, Peterborough Petes, and Special Olympics Ontario. He will also interact with fans throughout the evening.
A first intermission bucket pass will support Special Olympics Ontario.
A second intermission chuck-a-puck will support the Trent University women’s rugby team.
The national anthem will be performed by students of Roseneath Centennial Public School.
On the ice, the Petes will face the Western Conference’s fourth place club. They’re led by centre Kevin Hancock, who is fourth in league scoring with 16 goals, 19 assists, and 35 points in 20 games for the Attack.

Following Thursday’s game, the Petes will head west to face Matt Timms and the London Knights on Friday, November 16 at 7:30pm and the Sarnia Sting on Saturday, November 17 at 7:05pm.
