Petes Select 13 Players in 2022 OHL Priority Selection
The Peterborough Petes selected 13 players in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection presented by Real Canadian Superstore on Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30, 2022.
“We are really excited about this draft class and feel like we added tremendous talent in every position,” commented General Manager, Michael Oke. “We are very excited about the future of the Peterborough Petes and we’re looking forward to development camp.”
With the 6th overall pick, the Petes selected Brooklin, ON native Jack Van Volsen. In the 14 rounds that followed, the team added 12 promising young players to the depth chart, including seven forwards, four defencemen, and two local goalies. They are as follows:
- 1st round, 6th overall: Jack Van Volsen, C, 6’1”, 169 lbs, Toronto Jr. Canadiens
- 4th round, 69th overall: Braydon McCallum, C, 5’9”, 157 lbs, Brantford 99ers
- 5th round, 89th overall: Easton Rye, G, 6’1”, 190 lbs, Ajax-Pickering Raiders
- 6th round, 113th overall: Lucas Tuin, D, 5’11”, 183 lbs, Niagara North Stars
- 7th round, 129th overall: Isaac Larmand, C, 6’4”, 181 lbs, North Central Predators
- 8th round, 149th overall: Nicolas Petrut, C, 5’5.25”, 128 lbs, Kingston Jr. Gaels
- 9th round, 169th overall: Owen van de Ven, D, 6’0”, 161 lbs, Mississauga Senators
- 10th round, 189th overall: Reid Forster, D, 5’10”, 155lbs, Cambridge Hawks
- 11th round, 209th overall: Josh Frenette, LW, 6’2”, 180 lbs, Richmond Hill Coyotes
- 12th round, 229th overall: Nathan DellaDonna, C, 5’9”, 196 lbs, Bishop Kearney Selects
- 13th round, 249th overall: Brody Partridge, C, 5’9.25”, 162 lbs, Quinte Red Devils
- 14th round, 269th overall: Dylan Woulds, D, 6’, 196 lbs, Markham Majors
- 15th round, 289th overall: Carter Frost, G, 6’0”, 171 lbs, Toronto Jr. Canadiens
