Petes Drop Final Matchup in Limestone City
Philadelphia Flyers prospect Brian Zanetti scored his fourth goal of the season and Peterborough’s lone goal in Kingston as the Petes dropped today’s game. Both Michael Simpson and Liam Sztuska saw action today.
A tired Petes team didn’t have an ideal start in Limestone City as Martin Chromiak opened the scoring 34 seconds into the game after his shot was deflected off a Pete and went past Michael Simpson.
The goal lit the fire under the Petes as they got rolling and took control for the rest of the period, outshooting Kingston 10-6 and had strong possession of the puck, but the period ended exactly how it started – a Kingston goal. Paul Ludwinski deked through a few Petes and scored a highlight-reel goal to put the home team ahead 2-0.

Four goals were scored in the middle frame, and unfortunately for Peterborough, they only scored one of those goals. Brian Zanetti fired a point shot that was deflected off a Fronts’ defenceman and rolled past Leevi Meriläinen. Kaspars Ziemins picked up the lone assist on Zanetti’s fourth goal of the season.

LA Kings prospect Chromiak scored his second and third goal of the game to secure his hat-trick and Jordan Frasca, who recently signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins, added salt to the womb to give Kingston a 5-1 lead.
In the opening five minutes of the third, projected first overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft Shane Wright scored and Frasca banked in his second of the game as Kingston continued to pile goals.
The Petes return to action on Tuesday at the PMC against the Hamilton Bulldogs before welcoming Kingston on Thursday night.
