OHL News – Radio Edition for Feb 24/17
OHL News – Radio Edition with host Terry Doyle and presented by Warrior Hockey returns for the 2016-17 regular season bringing fans insight from feature guests as well as news and notes from around the league each and every week over the airwaves.
This week’s segment features defenceman Matthew Timms of the Peterborough Petes who enters the weekend ranked third in blueline scoring with 53 points in 57 games including eight goals and 45 assists as his club looks to hold onto first place in the Eastern Conference.
Originally chosen by the Petes in the second round of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, the former Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs defender from Waterdown, ON, has already doubled his previous highs in all offensive categories approaching the end of his third career season.
The 18-year-old Timms chats with Doyle about the excitement around Peterborough as the Petes compete for the East Division title against their arch rivals the Oshawa Generals. He talks about his added confidence as one of the team’s veterans, and how the club has maintained their success following a 10-game winning streak earlier this season.
