J.R. Avon, who was recently signed with the Philadelphia Flyers, skated with the Petes this week and could make his 2021 preseason debut with the maroon and white tonight.
Sarnia Sting currently sit in 2nd place in the West Division (2-2-0-1) with four points; Petes sit in 5th in the East Division (1-3-0-1) in preseason action.
The Petes only victory in preseason action was against the Sarnia Sting on Thursday, Sept. 23, where they won 4-3 in a shootout at the PMC.
Justin O’Donnell, who leads the Sting in points, is currently tied in 7th place amongst forwards in the OHL in points with three goals, three assists for six points.
Forwards Kaspars Ziemins (4GP, 3G), Tucker Robertson (3GP, 2G, 1A), and Kallaway Mercer (4GP, 3A), and defenceman Samuel Mayer (5GP, 1G, 2A) lead the team with three points each.
Sting’s Nolan DeGurse is tied for third place in the OHL with 20 shots.
