The biggest rivalry in junior hockey is back as the Oshawa Generals roll into Petes’ territory for Saturday night action. Peterborough is looking to jump back into the win column after dropping their last two games, and Oshawa is looking to snap their three-game losing skid.
Tonight will be the sixth time out of 12 matchups these two teams will meet this season.
Since being acquired at the Trade Deadline, New Jersey Devils prospect Chase Stillman has six points (3G, 3A) in seven games, and is on a five-game point streak.
The Petes will look to keep Oshawa’s leading scorer, Ty Tullio off the scoresheet. The Edmonton Oilers prospect has 11 points (5G, 6A) in five contests against Peterborough this season. On the Petes side, Tucker Robertson leads the way with nine points (2G, 7A).
Oshawa’s projected starter, Patrick Leaver is fourth in the OHL with a .914 save percentage.
J.R. Avon (2G, 4A) and Emmett Sproule (4G, 3A) are both on a four-game point streak. Sproule is ranked fourth in the OHL with 34 assists and first in the league with 18 power play assists.
Generals’ second overall selection in 2021 OHL Priority Selection Calum Ritchie, is ranked 7th in rookie scoring. The Oakville, Ontario native has 13 goals, 13 assists for 26 points in 32 games. He’s tied for second in the OHL with nine power play goals. His former teammate and Petes forward, Nick Lardis, only trails him by four points.
Petes defenceman and Philadelphia Flyers prospect Brian Zanetti has six points (2G, 4A) in his last six games.
