The Petes will look to carry momentum from last night’s 4-1 win, against the Bulldogs tonight.
Tonight will be the fourth time the divisional rivals will meet out of eight contests this season. The Bulldogs won the last two matchups against Peterborough, giving them a 2-1 season series lead.
Hamilton native and Petes’ winger Justin DeZoete will have friends and family in the stands tonight as he’ll play in his hometown for the second time in his OHL career.
Tucker Robertson has seven points (four goals, three assists) in three games against the Bulldogs this season, while Jan Mysak, who will be absent after being named to Czech Republic’s WJC roster, has eight points (five goals, three assists) against the Petes.
Bulldogs goalie and projected starter Marco Costantini is tied for first in the OHL with two shutouts. It’s expected that Tye Austin will be between the pipes after Michael Simpson played last night.
Bulldogs leading scorer, Logan Morrison, is fifth in the OHL with 27 assists and Petes’ winger Emmett Sproule is ranked 7th with 24 helpers.
The Petes are without centre Mason McTavish until January 5, 2022, at the latest, as he’ll be participating in this year’s IIHF World Junior Tournament for Team Canada in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta.
