The Peterborough Petes will wrap up their four game week Sunday night in a matchup against their fiercest rivals, the Oshawa Generals! The mighty maroon and white will head to the Tribune Community Centre following an incredible team effort that put the Petes back in the win column following a 5-2 victory over the Generals on Saturday evening.
Tonight will be the seventh time these two teams have met this season.
Current OHL point streak leader and first star in last night’s game Emmett Sproule picked up three assists extending his overall point total to to 53 (16G, 37A).
Although the Generals captain Ty Tullio only picked up a single assist in the first rivalry weekend game, the Edmonton Oilers prospect continues to lead Oshawa in points with with 49 (18G, 31A), picking up 12 of those against the Petes.
Oshawa’s projected starter, Patrick Leaver stopped 32 shots throughout Saturday night’s three periods while Petes net minder Michael Simpson blocked 29.
J.R. Avon (3G, 4A) and Emmett Sproule (4G, 6A) are both on a five-game point streak. Tucker Robertson is currently tied for third in the league for short handed goals (3).
Petes forward Kaspars Ziemens will head down the 115 with an extra step of confidence after picking up two goals against the home team in today’s game just 24 hours prior.
