Philip Tomasino named Third Star – March 26th, 2019
1ST STAR: ADAM BOQVIST (LONDON KNIGHTS):
Chicago Blackhawks prospect Adam Boqvist scored four times, leading the London Knights to a 6-3 comeback road win over the Windsor Spitfires. The Knights take a 3-0 series stranglehold, recovering from a 3-2 deficit to start the third period as Boqvist scored three times on the power play before tacking on one more in the win. Boqvist becomes the first OHL defenceman to score four goals in a playoff game since Niagara’s Vince Dunn last did it four years ago to the day. He’s the first London Knight to score four goals in a playoff game since Mitch Marner and Matthew Tkachuk both did it during the team’s 2016 championship run. The 18-year-old Swedish blueliner put up 20 goals and 60 points over 54 games in his first OHL season. He was Chicago’s first round (8th overall) pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.

2ND STAR: NICK SUZUKI (GUELPH STORM):
Montreal Canadiens prospect Nick Suzuki ripped a pair of hard releases past Kitchener’s Luke Richardson and also picked up an assist, putting up three points in a 6-3 Guelph Storm win over the Kitchener Rangers. The Storm took a 3-0 series lead thanks in large part to Suzuki’s contributions. The 19-year-old from London, Ont. has five points (3-2–5) over three playoff games following a 94-point (34-60–94) regular season spent between Guelph and Owen Sound. Suzuki has points in each of the first three games of the series. He was Vegas’ first round (13th overall) pick in 2017 before being dealt to Montreal last summer.

3RD STAR: PHILIP TOMASINO (NIAGARA ICEDOGS):
2019 NHL Draft prospect Philip Tomasino recorded his first OHL multi-goal playoff showing on Tuesday as the Niagara IceDogs took a bite out of the North Bay Battalion in a 6-0 road win. The Dogs took a 2-1 series lead thanks to a pair of goals and an assist from Tomasino. The 17-year-old Mississauga, Ont. native used his speed well on Tuesday, creating space for himself to put a pair of shots past North Bay’s Christian Propp as the Dogs outshot the Battalion 51-20. Tomasino recorded 72 points (34-38–72) over 67 games this past season. He was the 24th ranked North American skater on NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Draft Rankings. Tomasino was Niagara’s first round (5th overall) pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.
