Niagara IceDogs Night School Junior Additions Announced
The Niagara IceDogs are hosting a “Night School” game this upcoming March 7th, 2020, in partnership with the Education Foundation of Niagara and Niagara Foundation for Catholic Education. Puck drops against the Erie Otters at 7:00pm.
The “Night School” theme isn’t limited to the fundraising efforts.
The IceDogs will have junior additions to the game day experience
- Junior Reporter: Daniele Potrecz, a 12-year old grade six student from Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School will be giving IceDogs fans the low-down on the game, leading up to Saturday night, and interviewing some of her favourite players! Stay tuned for some great hits coming from her later this week.
- Junior PA Announcer: Hear a new voice announcing our goals? That’s our girl Julia! Julia Tremeer is a 12-year old grade 7 student from St. Ann Catholic School. She will be helping our very own Rod Mawhood over the PA system during Saturday night’s game.
- Junior In-Game Host: Jack, Connor and Andy are going to be helping out our in-game host LauraLeigh Groppo with our game-day contests and sponsor activations! Andy and Connor Garrett, 11-year old brothers who attend Orchard Park Public School, and Jack Hawthorn, a 9-year old student from Woodland Public School, might just steal the show Saturday night.
- Coaches assistant : Notice a younger man on the bench pre-game Saturday night? That’s our guy Caleb! Caleb Teakle is 8-years old, and is in grade three at Prince Philip Public School in Niagara Falls. He’ll be helping our coaches strategize and giving his pro-tips on the ice before we take on the Otters.
The IceDogs will be wearing specialty jerseys, designed by Owen McNeish-Fortune, an elementary school student from Thorold. Owen will be dropping the puck pre-game.
All jerseys will be auctioned live post-game with the proceeds benefitting the aforementioned educational foundations in the Region, with the help of Luke Pasmore and his staff from Luke’s Auctions, who generously donate their time. In addition to the specialty jerseys, replica t-shirts mystery pucks will be sold on the concourse during the game, with proceeds donated to the foundations.
The Education Foundation of Niagara and Niagara Foundation for Catholic Education are charitable causes who provide resources to students through bursaries and scholarships, breakfast programs, and other programs for students in need.
