IceDogs Encourage Others To Donate Plasma And Save Lives
NIAGARA, ON – The Niagara IceDogs are set to host a Canadian Blood Services game this Thursday November 23rd against the Brantford Bulldogs in support of Canadian Blood Services and Hockey Gives Blood.
Alongside of Bones, three IceDogs players; Zak Lavoie, Connor Federkow and Mathieu Paris recently visited the brand new St. Catharines Plasma Donor Centre as they showed their support for active plasma donors and to learn more about the plasma donation process. In addition, the IceDogs representatives had the opportunity to hear from Bill Willard, who is a plasma recipient. Bill shared his story on how plasma saved his life and encourages the public to continue to donate. Bill will be in attendance on Thursday November 23rd as he will partake in a ceremonial puck drop on behalf of Canadian Blood Services and Hockey Gives Blood.
The need for plasma is more than four times what is currently donated in Canada. It could take over 100 plasma donations to help treat just one person for a year. Your donated plasma touches the lives and families of thousands of patients who require lifesaving therapies and treatments made from plasma derived protein products.
The IceDogs have set a goal to encourage their fans and the community to save lives and donate plasma in support of Hockey Gives Blood and Canada’s Lifeline.
Team up with the Niagara IceDogs by joining our Hockey Gives Blood team of donors to help save lives. Together, we don’t just make a difference. We make all the difference. Join our team at blood.ca/PFL or click HERE!
