IceDogs Caught in the Eye of the Storm
GUELPH, ON – The Storm took an early lead just 47 seconds into the game, but IceDogs goaltender Owen Flores was a force in the first period, turning aside 21 of 22 shots. Kevin He responded with a brilliant sharp-angle shot (17th of the season), tying the game as the teams headed into the second period.
Mike Levin and Jack Brauti set up Andrei Loshko to get his 10th of the season to take the lead entering the second period (2-1).
Then a combined 5 goals in 6 minutes from both teams including Ethan Czata (Braidy Wassilyn) and Ryan Roobroeck (Callum Cheynowski, Wassilyn) tied the contest at 4-4 going into the final 20.
Ivan Galiyanov (Matthew Virgilio) scored the IceDogs fifth goal of the night, but the Storm took this one 8-5.
The IceDogs are back in action Sunday November 17th at 2:00pm where they take on the Brantford Bulldogs for their second matchup of the season.
