2024 U18 Priority Selection Recap
NIAGARA , ON – The Niagara IceDogs made three selections in the 2024 U18 Priority Selection, picking one forward, one defenceman and one goaltender.
IceDogs Selections:
Round 1 Pick 4: Jaden Flora (RW) – 6’0, 175 Ibs (Niagara North Stars U18 AAA)
Round 2 Pick 21: Linkin Stinson-Kurz (G) – 5’11, 183 Ibs (Southern Tier Admirals U18 AAA)
Round 3 Pick 41: Vladyslav Drahun (RD) – 6’1, 225 lbs (Toronto Red Wings U18 AAA)
Jaden Flora, a local product of St. Catherines, ON posted an impressive season with the Niagara North Stars U18 AAA program. In 34 games he recorded 26 goals and 27 assists for 53 points, while adding five points in seven playoff games. His numbers caught the eye of the Fort Erie Meteors of the GOJHL as he earned a call-up for the GOJHL playoffs. Flora has been stellar in Fort Erie, recording 11 points in 13 playoff games, helping lead the Meteors to a birth in the Sutherland Cup finals. Flora is no stranger to producing, as in his U16 season with the Niagara North Stars he hit the 50 point mark in 37 games, tallying 29 goals and 21 assists.
Linkin Stinson-Kurz, a goaltender from Hamilton, ON played his U18 season with the Southern Tier Admirals U18 AAA program after spending his U16 season with the Hamilton Huskies. In 17 regular season games with the Admirals he posted a 2.78 GAA.
Vladyslav Drahun, a 2006 born defenceman from Verbovets, UKR has played the past two seasons with the Toronto Red Wings U18 AAA program. Drahun posses lots of size, standing in at 6’1 and 225 lbs.
