Hounds Conclude Home Stand with Win
The Soo Greyhounds concluded a three-game home stand Sunday by downing the Guelph Storm 6-2 before a crowd of 3,694. Jeff Carter (pictured) led the Hounds to victory with 3 goals and an assist and was named first star of the game. Single goals went to Andrew Desjardins, Jason Pitton and Brody Todd. Chris Lawrence had 3 assists and was named second star. Mark O'Leary and Rick Steadman scored for the Storm, who were outshot 31-29. The Hounds led 2-1 after the first period and 4-2 after two.
The win increased the Hounds lead over second place Plymouth to 3 points in the race for first place in the West Division. The Hounds record improves to 27-25-8-1 while the Storm fall to 20-28-9-1. The Hounds return to action Thursday night when they visit the Windsor Spitfires.
