Express left-winger Sean Jones becomes Hounds 2nd Pick – *updated*
The Greyhounds made picks from the York Simcoe Express #1 and #2 on Saturday.
One round after picking James Livingston, the locals went to teammate SEAN JONES with their 2nd Round Pick (25th overall).
Both Livingston and Jones played on the same line with the Express.
Jones, a native of Newmarket, Ontario, had 44 goals and 15 assists, good for 59 points in 46 regular season games.
Post-season action saw him tally another 10 points (4 goals and 6 assists).
The left-winger who stands 5'”9″ tall and weights 160 lbs has been through the Express program.
“Sean is one of three players on the YSE Midget Team at the Minor Midget age group who has elected to play a level above at the Midget level this year. Sean has been a past player on Minor Novice to Peewee York Simcoe Express AAA followed by Minor Bantam to Bantam with Markham Waxers AAA. Sean played with the Bantam Markham Waxers Team last year which captured the Gold in the OMHA Championship round and Silver in the OHF Championship Finals. Sean attends Newmarket High School and had a 82% average last year. His interests are Golf, Lacrosse and Basketball. He is looking forward to being drafted this year to the OHL. His favorite NHL Team is the Toronto Maple Leafs” stated the York website.
