“Our Program is so incredibly proud of the way that Darnell performed throughout the Oilers training camp and exhibition season. History shows that to perform as an 18 year old defenceman the way that Darnell did is extremely rare and speaks to the very special talent, potential and determination that Darnell has” began Greyhounds GM Kyle Dubas.
Darnell appeared in three pre-season games for the Oilers grabbing 2 assists while putting together a +2 rating.
“I know how competitive and therefore how truly disappointed that Darnell will be tonight, and we look at it as our goal to do all that we possibly can to ensure Darnell maximizes his potential this season with The Program and is ready to become an Oiler full-time next season” concluded Dubas.
It is anticipated Nurse will arrive back in Sault Ste. Marie Thursday as the club prepares for a two-game home stand.
The Hounds host the North Bay Battalion Friday (September 27) and Barrie Colts Saturday (September 28).
Start times for both games at the Essar Centre is 7:07 p.m.
