Timmins Commits to Greyhounds
Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis is pleased to announce today the commitment from 2014 draft pick CONOR TIMMINS.
The Thorold, ON product was originally selected by the Greyhounds in the 4th Round (79th overall) in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection from the Southern Tier Admirals Minor Midget program.
“We are thrilled to have Conor join the Soo Greyhounds hockey program. Conor’s progression was steady throughout the year and really took off once he joined the St Catharines Falcons” started Hounds GM Kyle Raftis.
“As an offensive minded defensemen, Conor is at his best when the puck is on his stick. What continually drew us back to his game was his puck management, distribution and ability to escape defenders while breaking out of his zone. As Conor’s abilities continue to mature both off and on the ice we are very excited to see where his potential can take him” added Raftis.
This past season (2014-15), the 6.00, 180-lb defenceman split his time between the Thorold Blackhawks and St. Catharines Falcons of the GOJHL.
In 30 combined games he had 7 goals and 11 assists
“I’m very honoured to be a part of such a great organization and I’m looking forward to trying to win a championship with the Greyhounds” stated Timmins.
Conor will join all members of Training Camp 2015 in Sault Ste. Marie in late August.
