This Week in Hounds Nation; Mar. 10
The Hounds head into the final week-and-a-half of the Ontario Hockey League action with six games remaining on the regular season schedule.
And after a stop in Saginaw tonight, the locals will finish off the 68-game schedule and prepare for the post-season with five straight games at home, inside the Essar Centre.
Entering this week the Hounds hold a record of 30 wins, 24 losses, 7 overtime losses and 1 shootout loss, good for 68 points and 7th spot in the Western Conference.
They sit a single point back of the Owen Sound Attack while holding a game-in-hand over the Attack.
Offensively speaking the locals have a pair of players on respective scoring streaks as team leader BLAKE SPEERS (21g, 42a, 63pts) has scored in five consecutive games, while ZACH SENYSHYN (41g, 19a, 60pts) has tallied in four straight of his own.
Speaking of Senyshyn, the Ottawa ON product is venturing in unchartered waters. With a team-leading 41 goals on the season, the 2nd year forward is the first to hit the 40-goal plateau since Sooite Brett Thompson did so back in the 2009-10 season.
It should definitely make for some interesting moments over the next number of days and games ahead.
Here is what’s going on in Hounds Nation:
Thursday March 10 AT Saginaw Spirit – 7:05 PM
For the final time this regular season, the Hounds will hit the road on TONIGHT to take on the Saginaw Spirit at the Dow Event Center.

The Hounds will be looking for their 10th win in their last 12 starts on the road.

Friday March 11 VS London Knights – 7:07 p.m.
Proudly presented by Northside Volkswagen
For the second time in just over a week, the Hounds and Knights go head-to-head in a Western Conference showdown.
It was last week the two teams had a spirited effort in London, that despite scoring a pair of goals in a sixty-second span of the third period, saw the Hounds drop a tough 6-4 decision to the Knights.
The Hounds will be looking for their first win this season against one of their potential first-round playoff opponents while they also look to tame the high-powered offense of the Knights.
London features 3 of the top 4 point producers in the OHL with Christian Dvorak, Mitchel Marner and Matthew Tkachuk.
RADIO; Rock 101 (101.3 FM, www.rock101.net) beginning at 6:37 p.m.
TV; ShawTV (Local cable channel 10) beginning at 7 p.m.
Sunday March 13 VS Kitchener Rangers – 7:07 p.m.

In the three previous games this season, the Greyhounds have been able to pick up wins against the Rangers, including two in a row by scores of 6-3 and 8-5.
Kitchener comes to town with a road record of 17-9-3-1 on the season.
