Hounds announce Nike Simpson new Equipment Manager

SAULT STE. MARIE-  Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced another hiring in the club’s Hockey Operation’s department today, naming NIKE SIMPSON the team’s new Equipment Manager.

‘We’re excited to have Nike join us and jump right in with training camp next week.  This is a crucial role for our day-to-day support to our players and staff. As he continues to climb the ranks in the equipment manager role, we feel he will make a great addition to the organization’ stated Raftis.

Nike, a Hamilton ON native, joins the Hounds after spending last season with the CJHL’s Trenton Golden Hawks where he was the Head Equipment Manager as well as the Facility Manager for the team.

Simpson’s career began with the Hamilton Kilty B’s organization in the GOJHL as the Head Equipment Manager in 2009 before later working with the OHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs for five years as a dressing room attendant.

In 2020 he was a member of the CJHL Top Prospects game as Equipment Manager for Team West.

“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to join the Greyhounds for the upcoming season. I am looking forward to the start of training camp and getting the season underway” said Simpson.
