Hounds acquire Johnson, trio of picks from Knights
Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced this afternoon that he has completed a deal with the Midwest Division’s London Knights.
As part of the transaction the Greyhounds receive goaltender TYLER JOHNSON along with Flint’s 2nd Round Pick in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection, London’s 2nd Round Pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection and London’s 4th Round Pick in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection (conditional).
In return, London receives goaltender Joseph Raaymakers.
Johnson, a native of Amherst NY, is currently in his second season in the Ontario Hockey League posting a career record of 12-10-1-0, to go along with a 3.40 GAA and .987 SV%.
He was originally being selected by the Plymouth Whalers in the 7th Round of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection.
The 6.03, 190-lb netminder played the 2015-16 season with the Topeka Roadrunners of the NAHL where he appeared in 33 games posting a 2.56 GAA and .906 SV%.
He had previously committed to play NCAA D1 hockey for the University of Maine in Hockey East before joining the OHL.
Subsequent to this transaction, the Greyhounds have released overage netminder CONNOR HICKS.
