COLIN MILLER scored his 3rd goal of the season on Wednesday, but that was all the offense the Hounds could produce.
Sarnia scored five unanswered goals in the game, including a pair from Nail Yakupov to drop the Hounds by a 5-1 score.
With the loss the Hounds fall to 9-5-0-0 heading into Friday’s game versus the Plymouth Whalers. Game time is 7:35 p.m. at the Essar Centre.

Just six days after handing the Sarnia Sting a loss on home ice, the Soo Greyhounds had the favour returned on Wednesday night.
The Greyhounds opened the scoring with a power play goal 1:39 into the game but surrendered five unanswered goals in a 5-1 loss to the Sting at the Essar Centre on Wednesday night. The loss ended a three-game winning streak for the Greyhounds.
“We played ok but we certainly weren’t as good as we played on the road last weekend,” said Greyhounds assistant coach Nick Warriner, who handled the post-game media scrum in lieu coach Mike Stapleton. “We played ok though a couple of periods and got a couple of tough breaks there in the third.”
Colin Miller scored the lone goal for the Greyhounds when his point shot on the power play deflected off the end glass and then off a body in front past Sting goaltender Brandon Maxwell.
Greyhounds goaltender Matt Murray stopped 20 shots in the loss.
Sarnia’s top line of Nail Yakupov, Charles Sarault and Ludvig Rensfeldt combined for seven points in the win. Yakupov scored a pair of goals, Sarault had three assists and Rensfeldt had a goal and an assist in the win.
“That line was really good,” said Sting coach Jacques Beaulieu. “I also thought the (Craig) Hottot line (with Reid Boucher and Brett Ritchie) was really good too. Defensively they shut down the (Nick) Cousins line. Cousins has been on fire lately and we wanted to make sure we kept a close eye on him.”
Hottot and Jack Nevins also scored for Sarnia, with Nevins scoring his first Ontario Hockey League goal in the win. Sting overage goaltender Brandon Maxwell stopped 29 shots.
The Greyhounds host a pair of games on the weekend when they face Plymouth on Friday night and Guelph on Saturday.
