Soo Greyhounds GM Kyle Raftis announced today he has completed a deal with the Eastern Conference’s North Bay Battalion.
In the transaction, the Greyhounds acquire overage netminder CHRISTIAN PROPP in exchange of a conditional 15th Round Pick (Soo’s) in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.
“When evaluating the goaltender position this off season, we knew we wanted to acquire a veteran goaltending that will add depth to our team” began Raftis.
“In acquiring Christian, we now have a goaltender who has been a starting goalie in this league, and one that we believe is ready to take another step in his development. We think Christian has a lot more to prove moving into his overage year and are looking forward to having him in the Soo” he ended.
Propp will be entering his 4th full season in the Ontario Hockey League in 2019-20.
One year ago the 20-year old Milton ON native appeared in 51 games for the Battalion compiling a 24-24-2-0 record to go along with a 3.98 GAA and .893 SV%.
He backstopped North Bay to a ten-game winning streak from Mid-December to Mid-January before posting a .929 SV% through five playoff games against Niagara.
His career totals stand at a 50-55-6-3 win-loss record to go along with a 3.61 GAA and .895 SV% through 120 career regular season games played to go along with 4 shutouts.
Propp, who’s career started in Barrie, was originally a 5th Round Selection of the Colts in 2015.
