Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis is pleased to announce the commitment of a pair of 2015 draft picks earlier today
MORGAN FROST (4th Round) and THEO CALVAS (14th Round) both have committed to the Program.
Frost, a native of Aurora, ON, played one season ago with the Barrie Jr. Colts.
In 30 regular season games played, the 5.11, 160-lb forward had 30 goals and 25 assists, good for 55 points.
“As a young player coming into training camp Morgan got better every day. Morgan demonstrated the skill and skating that a player needs to contribute with our team” began Raftis.
“What really separates Morgan from a lot of players his age is how he thinks game on both sides of the puck at a very high level. He will fit into our style of play and we are very excited to have him a part of our team” continued Raftis.
Calvas, a native of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, played one season ago with Detroit Little Caesars.
In 25 regular season games played, the 6.04, 200-lb defender had 2 goals and 4 assists.
“Theo stood out from the first day of training camp as a player that has made massive strides over the summer” stated Raftis of Calvis.
“With his combination of great anticipation, assertiveness and mobility for a player his size we are very excited to see where Theo’s ceiling as a player will be as he adjusts to the OHL level” concluded the Hounds GM.
Both players were among the team’s roster following last week’s Training Camp 2015, and will not prepare for the club’s first exhibition contest which is set for Friday, September 18 (7:05 p.m.) at the Dow Event Center versus Saginaw
