FOUR PROSPECTS NAMED TO U17 CAMP
HAMILTON, ONT.–Four Hamilton Bulldogs prospects will be taking part in Canada’s national under-17 development camp.
Forwards Mackenzie Entwhistle and Matthew Strome are joined by defencemen Reilly Webb and Fedor Gordeev at the camp which runs from July 29 to Aug. 4 in Calgary, Alta.
Strome was selected eighth overall by the Bulldogs in the 2015 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. Standing 6-foot-3 and 183 pounds, Strome collected 23 goals and 37 assists with the Toronto Marlboros last season.
Entwhistle was selected in the second round of the draft after completing his minor midget season alongside Strome with the OHL Cup and Greater Toronto Hockey League-champion Marlboros.
Webb was also a second round selection from the Toronto Titans. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound 16-year-old collected nine goals and 11 assists in 32 games last season.
Gordeev stands 6-foot-4, 184 pounds. He was selected in the third round of the Priority Selection after netting nine goals and 16 assists with the Toronto Red Wings.
In total, 111 players will participate in practices and a nine-game mini-tournament in Calgary.
From the development camp, 66 players will be selected to represent Canada on one of three national teams.
The 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge is scheduled for Oct. 30 – Nov. 7 in a yet-to-be-determined host city.
