HAMILTON BULLDOGS CLINCH 5TH STRAIGHT PLAYOFF APPEARANCE
HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs became the first team to punch their ticket to the 2022 Ontario Hockey Playoffs on Wednesday night with the 9th sitting Sudbury Wolves now mathematically unable to catch the top team in the OHL.
Adding another layer to the celebration of the 2022 Outdoor Showcase on Monday at Tim Hortons Field, the Bulldogs have clinched their 5th playoff birth in a row, dating back to the 2016-17 season. Despite not having a playoff run in 2019-20, the Bulldogs had clinched a birth before the season was cancelled continuing the streak.
Sitting with 72 points on the season, Hamilton has sole possession of first place in both the Eastern Conference and Ontario Hockey League overall. Currently riding a 9-game winning streak, and having won 16 of their last 17 games, the Bulldogs head into the busiest stretch of their season with plenty of momentum and with the OHL’s best home record at 23-4-1-2, the Bulldogs will next target a clinch of their 2nd East Division Championship.
The Bulldogs embark on a trip to Barrie & Mississauga for Thursday & Friday before returning home to play the Outdoor Showcase at Tim Hortons Field on Monday, March 14th at 7:00pm.
