ELEVEN HAMILTON BULLDOGS INVITED TO NHL ROOKIE CAMPS
Eleven Hamilton Bulldogs will have their opportunity to impress NHL clubs as they attend Rookie Camps this fall.
All three Bulldogs selected in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft will attend their organization’s camp with 48th overall selection Artyom Grushnikov heading to Dallas, 67th overall selection Ryan Winterton going to Seattle & 202nd overall selection Chandler Romeo on his way to Ottawa. Grushnikov & Romeo are yet to debut with the Bulldogs but are expected to be large parts of a new look Hamilton blueline for the 2021-22 season while Ryan Winterton is coming off a very successful rookie season in Hamilton where he recorded 12 goals & 11 assists for 23 points in 53 games and then go on to win the 2021 U18 World Hockey Championship with Team Canada.
2020 48th overall selection Jan Mysak made a massive impact with the Hamilton Bulldogs after arriving in the 2019-20 OHL season recording 15 goals & 10 assists for 25 points in 22 games. Mysak would spend the 2020-21 season split between his hometown HC Litvinov and the AHL’s Laval Rocket and will return to the Montreal Canadiens organization for rookie camp. Joining Jan Mysak at Montreal’s camp will be teammates Tag Bertuzzi & Avery Hayes. Bertuzzi & Hayes spent the 2020-21 season gaining professional experience with HK Levice in Slovakia where Bertuzzi would lead the team in scoring with 23 points in 22 games while Hayes would produce 9 in his 14 games.
Another Bulldog who spent the 2020-21 season gaining professional experience was Nathan Staios who had stints with both Huddinge IK in Sweden as well as the Utica Comets in the AHL has earned an invite from the St. Louis Blues.
Navrin Mutter appeared in three games for the AHL’s Stockton Heat in the 2020-21 season and has earned himself an invite from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Logan Morrison, coming off a 23 goal, 22 assist, 45-point season over 59 games in the 2019-20 season will join former Bulldogs teammate Arthur Kaliyev as he has earned an invite from the Los Angeles Kings
Lawson Sherk, off an impressive rookie campaign with the Bulldogs, which saw him post 5 goals & 10 assists for 15 points while contributing all 200-ft and appearing in all 62 games, has earned an invite from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Gavin White has become a fantastic story, originally selected in the OHL U18 Draft in the 3rd round, 47th overall, White earned a spot on the 2019-20 Bulldogs playing in 25 games that season. White’s hard work and determination has now seen him earn an invite from the San Jose Sharks.
