DAVE MATSOS HIRED AS BULLDOGS ASSOCIATE COACH
The Hamilton Bulldogs have announced that Dave Matsos will be joining the organization as an associate coach.
Matsos spent the last four years with the Sudbury Wolves, serving the last two-and-a-half as head coach. Prior to that, the 43-year old native of Burlington served as an assistant coach with the Windsor Spitfires for three seasons. He began his coaching career in England in 2006 where he guided the Sheffield Steelers to three straight championships.
“We’re extremely pleased to add Dave Matsos to our coaching staff”, said Bulldogs President and General Manager Steve Staios. “Dave will be a great compliment and support to Head Coach John Gruden in his role as associate coach. He is a great communicator and will help our players and team as a whole, take another step forward. Dave’s approach to the game will fit perfectly with what we’re trying to accomplish here in Hamilton and his attention to detail is second to none.”
Matsos spent four seasons in the OHL as a player winning a Memorial Cup with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in 1993. His pro career included one season as a member of the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs in 1998-99.
