BULLDOGS WIN PRE-SEASON OPENER OVER GUELPH
The Hamilton Bulldogs kicked off their pre-season on a winning note with a 4-2 win over the Guelph Storm Friday night at the Firestone Arena in Ancaster.
The Bulldogs came out firing outshooting the Storm 16-0 in the first period, but failed to score. It didn’t help that the Bulldogs went 0-3 on the power-play.
Hamilton kept up the pressure in the second and it paid off as Ben Garagan and Connor McMichael scored to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead after forty minutes.
Mackenzie Entwistle scored just before the 5-minute mark of the 3rd to make it 3-0 Bulldogs. Guelph made it close with back-to-back goals to cut the deficit to 3-2, but Hamilton’s Marian Studenic scored into the empty net to make the final 4-2.
Final shots on goal were in favour of the Bulldogs 29-27.
Guelph goals were scored by Barret Kirwan and Tag Bertuzzi.

The Bulldogs next two exhibition games are on the road Thursday September 14th in Guelph and Saturday September 16th in Barrie. They wrap up the pre-season Sunday September 17th at 5 pm against the Barrie Colts at Valley Park Arena in Stoney Creek.
Hamilton kicks off the 2017-18 regular season at home on Saturday September 23rd at FirstOntario Centre against the Niagara IceDogs at 7 pm.
