BULLDOGS VISIT PETES & HOST WOLVES THIS WEEKEND
The Hamilton Bulldogs will officially hit the quarter pole of the 2021-22 Ontario Hockey League season by the time they wrap up games with the Peterborough Petes and Sudbury Wolves this weekend.
Heading into the weekend through 15 games on the season, the Bulldogs stand at a solid 8-5-1-1 for 18 points, sitting 2nd in the East Division & 3rd in the Eastern Conference. The opposition this week are already no strangers to the Bulldogs, having seen both teams twice already. Once each home & away and having rebounded from game one losses to win the second of each series.
The Bulldogs open their weekend visiting the Peterborough Memorial Centre for the second time this season. In their first visit the Petes jumped on the Bulldogs early, getting the Dogs chasing the score on route to a 4-3 Peterborough win. The tables were turned in the second meeting between the two teams on November 12th at FirstOntario Centre, as the Bulldogs powered past the Petes with 2 goals in the last 3:53 of the third period from Gavin White & Jan Mysak to pick up a 4-2 victory. In a pair of games against Peterborough this season, the Bulldogs have been led by the combination of Jan Mysak (3-1-4) & George Diaco (1-3-4) with 4 points each. Listen in to the action from Peterborough on the Bulldogs Audio Network at www.hamiltonbulldogs.com/audio.
Returning home to FirstOntario Centre on Saturday, November 20th, the Bulldogs will host the Sudbury Wolves in our first ever Social Media Game, where the Black & Gold will look for the crowd to give them an edge. The first time the Bulldogs crossed paths with the Wolves in Sudbury this season, the Wolves came away with an 8-2 victory, but like with the Petes, Hamilton received a measure of revenge in the team’s subsequent meeting. Sudbury got out of the gates to a 2-0 lead, only to see the Bulldogs come storming back, recording 6 goals in the game’s last 23:53 earning a 6-3 victory on home ice. Jan Mysak (2-2-4) leads the way for the Bulldogs with 4 points through 2 meetings with Gavin White (1-2-3) & Avery Hayes (2-1-3) close behind with 3 points apiece. Jorian Donovan recorded his first OHL goal against the Wolves back in October while the November meeting saw 11 different Bulldogs record at least a point.
Tickets for Saturday’s Social Media Game are available through Ticketmaster.ca with a 7:00pm game time at FirstOntario Centre. Fans are encouraged to get involved by sending their memes and participating in all the fun inside the arena on game day.
