BULLDOGS LOSE 8-4 IN SARNIA
A wild Sunday night in Sarnia as the Hamilton Bulldogs fell behind early and went down to defeat 8-4.
The Sting started the game on an offensive rampage leading 4-0 to end the opening frame while adding one early in the 2nd to go ahead 5-0 before the Bulldogs got on the board. First Jan Jenik (2) scored on a 5-on-3 power-play followed 27 seconds later by a Logan Morrison (6) power-play goal to cut the deficit to 5-2.
The Sting stole Hamilton’s momentum with an early 3rd period goal to take a 6-2 lead before Arthur Kaliyev (34, 35) went to work on special teams, picking up a short-handed goal followed by a power-play goal just 90 seconds apart to make it 6-4. However, the Bulldogs comeback came to an end as Sarnia scored two more to close out scoring at 8-4.
Hamilton was 3-for-7 on the power-play while Sarnia was 0-for-4.
Jan Jenik (goal and an assist), Logan Morrison (goal and an assist), Matthew Strome (two assists) and Arthur Kaliyev (two goals) all had a multi-point games for the Bulldogs.
Sting goal scorers were Mitch Eliot (12), Brayden Guy (14, 15), Curtis Egert (11), Ryan McGregor (17, 18), Hugo Leufvenius (27) and Jacob Perreault (23).
