BULLDOGS ACQUIRE TOMAS HAMARA FROM RANGERS
BRANTFORD, ONTARIO. The Brantford Bulldogs have completed a trade with the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday, acquiring import defenseman Tomas Hamara in exchange for a 3rd Round Draft selection in 2024 & 4th Round Draft selection in 2027.
Hamara, a product of Prague, Czechia, is already a world travelled player having moved from his hometown club to play four season with the Tappara Tampere program in Finland, where he earned 24 games with the Tappara senior side in the 2021-22 season as a 17-year old leading to his 3rd round, 87th overall selection by the Ottawa Senators in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Also accomplished on the international stage, Hamara has represented Czechia at a pair of U18 World Championships and a pair of World Junior Championships, being named an all-star at the 2022 U18’s and winning a silver medal at the 2023 World Junior Championship.
Drafted by the Rangers in the 1st round, 26th overall of the 2022 CHL Import Draft, Hamara arrived for the 2022-23 season and has gone on to play 74 games in the Ontario Hockey League recording a pair of goals and 18 assists for 20 points while providing a dynamic transition game and calming influence on the blueline.
