BULLDOGS ACQUIRE LARDIS, PANWAR & DRAFT SELECTIONS FROM PETES
HAMILTON, ONTARIO. Hamilton Bulldogs Interim General Manager Matt Turek today announced the acquisition of forwards Nick Lardis, Sahil Panwar, a 3rd Round Draft Selection in 2023 and conditional 6th Round Draft Selection in 2026 from the Peterborough Petes in exchange for overage forward Avery Hayes & overage defenseman Gavin White.
Lardis, a product of Oakville, was the 6th overall choice in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection Draft. In his second season in the OHL coming out of the Oakville Rangers U16 AAA, Lardis has been immediately productive. With 18 goals and 19 assists for 37 points in 63 games as a rookie in the 2021-22 season, the 5’11, 165lbs right winger picked right up in the 2022-23 season posting 12 goals and 7 assists for 19 points in 36 games. Lardis garnered a “B” rating on the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary players to watch list and will skate in the Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game on January 25th.
Panwar, a product of Mississauga, brings versatility to the Bulldogs lineup. Skating in his overage season, the 6’1”, 185lbs forward can lineup in multiple positions and brings 172 games experience of OHL experience to Hamilton. Originally a 2nd round, 28th overall selection by the London Knights in 2018, Panwar has recorded 10 goals & 7 assists for 17 points in 34 games on the season in Peterborough.
Avery Hayes & Gavin White both played integral parts in the 2022 OHL Championship team for the Hamilton Bulldogs. Hayes originally drafted in the 6th round, 118th overall in 2018 debut with the Dogs in the 2018-19 season and immediately became a fan favourite with his slick skills. Scoring 90 goals & 77 assists for 167 points in 205 games with 35 points in 20 career playoff games. In the 2021-22 season, Hayes became the 2nd Bulldog to cross 40 goals in a single season following Arthur Kaliyev doing it twice. Gavin White made himself and incredible story, originally selected in the 3rd round, 47th overall, of the 2019 U18 Priority Selection Draft, White has posted 78 points over his last 88 regular season games and 9 points including a key overtime goal on route to winning the 2022 OHL Championship.
