THANK YOU MARK DUARTE
HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Hamilton Bulldogs would like to thank Mark Duarte for his incredible contributions with the team over the past 3 years and wish him the very best as he continues his OHL career in Sault Ste. Marie.
Originally a 14th round selection, 278th overall, in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection Draft, Duarte has earned every bit of success he has accomplished through hard work and determination. A Hamilton product that spent time with both the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs and Hamilton Huskies programs on route to being drafted by his hometown club, Duarte forced his way onto the Bulldogs for 2019-20 season after a tremendous season with the Hamilton Kilty B’s.
After skating in 27 games in the 2019-20 season, Duarte became a key contributor in the 2021-22 season. Skating in 54 regular season games, Duarte recorded 10 goals & 14 assists while becoming one of the most trusted pieces of coach McKee’s penalty kill. Through 17 playoff games, Duarte played with heart on his sleeve to help the Bulldogs in winning the J. Ross Robertson Cup in front of his friends and family, while remaining one of the most relied upon members of the team for his leadership.
“Mark Duarte personified everything we expect a Hamilton Bulldog to be” said President & General Manager Steve Staios. “Mark came to the rink and gave his all every day, he earned his way onto our club and into a key role contributing to our OHL Championship. We thank Mark for everything he accomplished with the Hamilton Bulldogs and wish him nothing but the very best.”.
