BULLDOGS TRADE DEADLINE WRAP-UP
The Hamilton Bulldogs were very busy today and leading up to today’s OHL trade deadline with nine deals completed that re-shape the look of the team for the rest of this season and beyond.
It began on December 17th when the Bulldogs acquired forward Tag Bertuzzi from the Guelph Storm for a 2nd round and two 3rd round draft picks.
On January 5th, captain Mackenzie Entwistle was sent to the Guelph Storm in exchange for two 2nd round draft picks and three 3rd round picks.
The next day, the Bulldogs acquired Jan Jenik, a 3rd round NHL draft pick of the Arizona Coyotes from the Flint Firebirds. In return for the native of the Czech Republic, a 5th round OHL draft pick and a conditional 4th round pick heads to Flint.
Another major deal came January 8th when Grimsby native Brandon Saigeon was dealt to the Oshawa Generals. In return for the overage forward, the Bulldogs receive two 2nd round draft picks and a 3rd round pick.
Joining Saigeon in Oshawa is overage defenseman Nicolas Mattinen. He was traded to the Generals on January 9th in return for overage LW Eric Henderson along with one 2nd and a 3rd round draft pick.
Today before the 12 Noon deadline, the Bulldogs acquired a trio of 17-year old defensemen in Daniel Nardi from the Mississauga Steelheads for a 10th round draft pick, Cameron Supryka from the Peterborough Petes for a 4th round pick and Payton Vescio from the North Bay Battalion for a conditional 15th round pick.
The Bulldogs also sent 20-year old centerman Ben Garagan to the Windsor Spitfires in exchange for a conditional 15th round draft pick.
