How to Stay Involved in the Offseason
The 2018-19 Ottawa 67’s campaign might not have ended the way we’d hoped but it was a special one. Despite the fact that the boys have had their exit interviews and gone home for the summer, there are still tons of ways for you to keep up with your Ottawa 67’s!
- Late June: CHL Import Draft
- Late June-Early July: NHL Development Camps will take place and all drafted 67’s players and camp invitees will be attending at various locations in Canada and the US.
- July 19-26: Hockey Canada U-17 Development Camp. The top U-17 hockey players in the country will be invited to Calgary to display their talents and make a case to be selected to Team Canada for the World U17 Hockey Championships. Keep an eye to see if any of the 67’s prospects receive an invitation to camp. Prospects Matier, Beck, Sirizzotti, Johnston and Gill set to attend.
- July 26-30: Hlinka-Gretzky Team Canada. 67’s goaltender Will Cranley and prospect Colby Ambrosio have been invite.
- Late July-Early August (TBA): World Junior Summer Showcase. 67’s Head Coach Andre Tourigny will be heading out to the Showcase as he has recently been named Assistant Coach for Team Canada at the 2020 World Junior Championship. Along with the 67’s bench boss, a potential couple of 67’s players will also head out to showcase their skills and make a bid for themselves to represent their country at the 2020 tournament.
- Early August (TBA): Hlinka-Gretzky Cup. The top U-18 players in the world will descend upon Czech Republic/Slovakia for the 2019 Hlinka-Gretzky tournament. It is still too be determined if any of the 67’s rookies from this past season will represent Canada but it has been announced that 67’s Assistant Coach Mario Duhamel will serve as an Assistant Coach for Team Canada at the event.
