67’s look to playoffs after loss to Brantford
The Ottawa 67’s await their first-round playoff opponent, after dropping a 5-1 score to the Brantford Bulldogs in their regular season finale.
Ottawa, who will face either the Bulldogs or Sudbury Wolves in Round 1 (depending on whether or not Sudbury wins tonight), got an early goal from Cooper Foster, but the Bulldogs used two powerplay goals en route to a 5-1 win inside The Arena at TD Place.
Foster converted on a Luca Pinelli feed 8:15 in, but goals from Florian Xhekaj, and a powerplay marker by Jake O’Brien made it 2-1 after the first.
Despite a good push from Ottawa, Patrick Thomas provided an insurance marker, with Lucas Moore, and Xhekaj rounding out the scoring in the third.
Regardless of their opponent, Ottawa’s playoffs will begin on Friday, at 7:00pm on the road.
