67’s Host Bulldogs in Penultimate Home Game
For the eighth and final time this season, the Ottawa 67’s will take on the Hamilton Bulldogs, tonight. The Barber Poles have taken five points off the league leaders in their previous seven games, this season, and their meetings have been competitive, with three of the last four going beyond regulation. Fans can watch live on Rogers TV, or stream on CHL TV, and Kenny Walls will have the radio call on TSN 1200. Puck drop from The Arena at TD Place is scheduled for 7 pm ET.
The Barber Poles are coming off a loss to the Niagara IceDogs, however, it wasn’t all bad news. With the Sudbury Wolves falling to the Mississauga Steelheads, the Barber Poles clinched a spot in the OHL playoffs for the seventh consecutive season. In Niagara, the IceDogs scored the first goal of the game, but in the second period, Ottawa responded. Three goals from Vinzenz Rohrer, Chris Barlas, and Luca Pinelli had the Barber Poles in the lead 3-1 at the end of two. Niagara scored a trio of goals before the halfway point of the final frame and held on to win 4-3.
The Bulldogs found more success in their most recent game, on Sunday afternoon. In a possible preview of their first-round matchup, Hamilton had their way with the Peterborough Petes, beating them by a score of 6-1. Avery Hayes and Mason McTavish got the game started for the Bulldogs, before they scored three additional goals in the second period. Ryan Humphrey and Justin DeZoete traded goals in the final period. Marco Costantini stopped 27 shots in the winning effort.
