Barber Poles welcome Fish to Ottawa
In their lone game of the weekend, the Ottawa 67’s (6-6-2-1) are set for a massive test against the Brampton Steelheads (8-5-1-0) inside The Arena at TD Place. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. Great seats are still available here.
Everything you need to know about your evening at TD Place can be found here.
Broadcasts are available on Rogers TV, as well as CHLTV. You can also hear Kenny Walls’ call on TSN 1200.
The 67’s come into Friday night feeling good about themselves, riding a four-game point streak, which includes a pair of victories. Last time out, they doubled up the Kingston Frontenacs in their school-day game, getting goals from four different sources. Collin MacKenzie was once again solid between the pipes for Ottawa, stopping 27 of the 29 shots he faced.
67’s captain Luca Pinelli extended his point streak to four games, in which time he has a whopping 10 points, including six goals. Brady Stonehouse is also back for Ottawa, after being returned by the Edmonton Oilers yesterday.
The Steelheads have been among the most productive teams at the offensive end of the rink across the entire CHL to start the 2024-25 season, scoring 66 goals in the first 14 games. Last weekend, they won a pair of games over the North Bay Battalion, but dropped a decision to the Sarnia Sting 5-3.
They come into Ottawa with both Porter Martone and Carson Rehkopf firing away, sitting in first and fourth in the league in points respectively.
In their only prior meeting this year, the Steelheads eeked out a narrow shootout win on home ice. Filip Ekberg and Cooper Foster scored for Ottawa, while Angus MacDonell and Martone found the back of the net for the Fish.

Keys to the game
- Stay alert
The 67’s have to be aware of where everyone is at all times, especially Brampton’s big threats. Don’t shut off for even a second.
- Empty the tank
You have some time off between now and the next game. Use everything you have tonight, and worry about the rest later.
- Discipline
This is important whether you’re talking about penalties, maintaining structure, blocking passing lanes, all of it.
