67’s earn revenge over Frontenacs
The Ottawa 67’s got their revenge on the Kingston Frontenacs on Wednesday morning, earring a pair of points in a 4-2 victory, and extending their point streak to four games.
After a first period where both teams were feeling one another out, the second resulted in a little bit more offence. It started early in the frame, with the Fronts taking advantage of a power play opportunity, with Emil Pieniniemi putting Kingston out in front.
Just after the midway mark of the period, the 67’s responded. Nic Whitehead slid a pass across the middle of the ice to captain, Luca Pinelli, who beat Nolan Lalonde, sneaking one into the back of the net to tie the affair.
The third was by far the most productive at the offensive end of the rink, especially for the Barber Poles. Filip Ekberg put Ottawa out in front with a one-timer goal early in the third, before Frankie Marrelli blasted a shot past Lalonde for his first goal of the year.
Jacob Battaglia brought Kingston within one late in the frame, but that was as close as they got. Cooper Foster added an empty net goal, sending the school kids back to class after a 4-2 67’s victory.
