Join us for the arrival of the Memorial Cup, which will mark the official opening of the tournament and kick off the festivities in Rimouski. In a spectacular staging, in collaboration with the Canadian Armed Forces, the Cup will be escorted through the city, symbolizing the history, pride and excitement surrounding this major event.
Departing from the Cégep de Rimouski, the Memorial Cup will be officially handed over to the community for a parade to the Champions Headquarters at Sun Life Financial Coliseum. The procession will honor local organizations and groups who, in their own way, are inspiring champions of everyday life.
An official ceremony will take place on the Premier Tech Stage, located under the Béton Provincial Dome, where the commemorative jersey from the Océanic’s first Memorial Cup game will also be unveiled.
A free, grandiose event open to all, where the Rimouski community is invited to come and celebrate the arrival of the prestigious Memorial Cup and the start of a historic tournament!

As part of the Memorial Cup festivities, the Champions Headquarters at Sun Life Financial Coliseum will host two shootout tournaments, offering a unique opportunity for hockey fans to demonstrate their skill and experience the intensity of this iconic event.
On Saturday, May 24, the tournament will be reserved for those under 18, while on Sunday, May 25, it will be the turn of those 18 and over to take up the challenge. These tournaments are open to everyone, whether as a team or solo. Individual registrants will be paired with a team.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners, adding a touch of friendly competition to the event. Registration for this activity is free; a great opportunity to contribute to the festive atmosphere of the Memorial Cup and test your skills in a dynamic and convivial setting
Free Screenings of Hockey Movies

Fan Breakfast, organized by Memorial Cup fans and the Océanic fan club, will be a unifying moment where hockey enthusiasts and members of the community can get together over a good meal.
Open to all, this luncheon will be the ideal opportunity for visitors and members of the Rimouski community to meet other hockey fanatics, share their passion and immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of the Memorial Cup. Proceeds from the event will raise funds for local organizations.

Anniversary of the sinking of the Empress of Ireland

Located on the Site historique maritime de la Pointe-au-Père, the Empress of Ireland Museum will mark the 111th anniversary of the sinking of the ocean liner on Thursday, May 29, 2025 with a special program:
– Guided tours “Empress of Ireland: the story of a must-see museum in Pointe-au-Père”.
Immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the Empress of Ireland Museum and discover how this unique building, erected 25 years ago, has become an essential place for sharing and remembering Canada’s greatest shipwreck. From its distinctive architecture to its key role in mediation, commemoration and conservation, this event will highlight the testimonies of several players who have helped to spread the mission of the Site historique maritime de la Pointe-au-Père across the country.

A dek hockey rink will be available for games and challenges, while skill-based games will allow them to test their abilities. The visit will also be a chance to learn more about the history of hockey and its evolution across generations.
This initiative aims to raise awareness among young people about hockey’s legacy while offering them privileged access to the tournament’s facilities. A genuine experience sure to inspire the passionate fans of tomorrow.
