Arrival of The Cup presented by Kia

Date: Thursday, May 25th @ 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Location: Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Powwow Arbour

Kia Canada looks forward to participating in the 2023 Arrival of the Cup ceremony, which will take place in the afternoon of Thursday, May 25th at the Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Powwow Arbour. Just a day before the puck drops, we start the celebration with the arrival of the prestigious Memorial Cup in the breathtaking Powwow Arbour. We encourage all to join in the excitement of the arrival ceremony.

Open to fans of all ages the event will feature a welcome and prayer by Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc, followed by opening remarks and introductions of the Kamloops Blazers and the three Regional League Champions. Additionally, the ceremony will include the unveiling of the Blazers’ theme jersey for the tournament’s opening night.

Molson Canadian Hockey House presented by Molson

Date: Thursday, May 25th – Sunday, June 4th 

Location: Sandman Centre

The action is even hotter off the ice at the Molson Canadian Hockey House! Serving as the official entertainment zone for the 2023 Memorial Cup presented by Kia, you can expect ten jam-packed days of live music, game viewing parties, DJs, leadership talks, and pre-game hot stoves. 

Fully accessible, family friendly and conveniently located directly behind the Sandman Centre, the Molson Canadian Hockey House will also be the official location for Memorial Cup merchandise.

Beginning Thursday, May 25 and running until the Memorial Cup champion is crowned on Sunday, June 4 – the Molson Canadian Hockey House will be the go-to place pre- and post-game through the 2023 Memorial Cup presented by Kia.

Kicking off the tournament, the two-time JUNO award-winning rock band The Glorious Sons will take the stage at The Riverside Party presented by Simpcw Resources Group on May 25 at 7:30 p.m. You can purchase your tickets here.

Fan Zone features an impressive line-up of activities, including interactive skills games from Top Shot Hockey. Numerous other displays, along with food and beverage kiosks will make this a must-see 2023 Memorial Cup presented by Kia stop for all hockey fans of all ages.

Hockey Hall of Fame presented by Switchback Creek

Location: Kelson Hall – 330 St Paul St, Kamloops

The Hockey Hall of Fame will showcase hockey history with the most prized hockey artifacts and trophies that would normally only be available by visiting the HHOF in Toronto. Experience the thrill of priceless historical treasures from the iconic collection of the Hall of Fame, engage with exciting and interactive exhibits, and see hockey’s most prestigious silverware. The Hockey Hall of Fame also offers unique, one-of-a-kind experiences, such as Aboriginal Hockey, and showcases honouring esteemed Kamloops Alumnus like Shane Doan, Darryl Sydor, Jarome Iginla, Scott Niedermayer, and Mark Recchi, as well as Kamloops’ rich history. On-Ice Skill Development Sessions presented by Rogers Rentals

Dates: Saturday, May 27th – Saturday, June 3rd

Location: McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre & Sandman Centre (June 3 Only)

Get ready to hit the ice with your hockey heroes! This exciting event offers young players an amazing opportunity to learn and grow alongside their idols. With five on-ice development sessions planned, participants will have the unique opportunity to improve their skills and get inspired.

We have sessions available for U11, U13, U15, and U18 co-ed players, as well as a special female-only session. All co-ed sessions will be held at the McArthur Island Sports and Events Centre on the NHL Sheet and the female-only session will be at the Sandman Centre.

During each session, participants will have the incredible opportunity to skate with a select group of coaches and alumni. Afterward, everyone will get to enjoy a delicious pizza party while watching the CHL team practice from the stands. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable chance to learn from the best and have a blast on the ice!

Memorial Cup Ball Hockey Tournament presented by Morfco

Location: 4th Avenue and Seymour Street

Get ready for an incredible weekend of ball hockey action with the Kamloops Ball Hockey League! With over 50 years of experience, we’re proud to announce the 2023 Memorial Cup Ball Hockey Tournament presented by Morfco.

This year, we’re thrilled to unveil our brand new portable ball hockey mini rinks, designed to bring the excitement of the game to the entire community. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, we invite you to join us for a weekend of high-energy games and activities, open to ages 5-15 of all skill levels.

Registration includes an official Memorial Cup jersey, along with some exciting souvenirs to take home from your experience. All games will be 3-on-3 plus a goaltender, with plenty of substitutions to keep the energy high throughout the tournament. So gather your team or sign up as an individual, and get ready for an unforgettable weekend of ball hockey fun!

Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc hosts Clara Hughes' Blazing Trails Leadership Series

Join Clara Hughes as she headlines the Blazing Trails Leadership Series presented by Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc and supported by Arrow Service.

“Open Heart, Open Mind” is the personal story of Clara Hughes, one of Canada’s most decorated Olympian’s journey and struggle with depression. With humour and practical advice she helps audiences learn to listen so that they can heal and reconnect with who they really are, letting go of the fear of failing and truly learning to feel. She will take the audience through a wide-ranging journey of self-discovery while facing her ultimate challenge: herself! This event will appeal to all ages but in particular will resonate with today’s youth in their own journey.

Eco Day Scavenger Hunt presented by Thompson Rivers University

The 2023 Eco Day Scavenger Hunt invites visitors and locals to celebrate the Memorial Cup by exploring Riverside Park.  Enjoy a fun, interactive experience for 30 to 60 minutes while learning about environmental sustainability using the Scavify app anytime between Friday, May 26th at 2 pm and Friday, June 2nd at 5 pm. Players will answer trivia questions and complete tasks like sharing photos of attractions throughout the park to accumulate points. Once all tasks are complete, players’ names are put into a random draw to win the Grand Prize!

Not only will you witness the incredible strength and skill of women from all backgrounds as they compete in a series of challenging fitness tests, but you’ll also get to see them in action as Kia Kamloops provides a car to push as part of the competition.

From tire flips and tire drags to weighted carries and sandbag presses and more, the FemSport Challenge is the ultimate showcase of female strength and determination. With categories for all skill levels, from novice to elite, this competition is a celebration of women’s fitness and a true test of their physical and mental prowess.

Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just looking for a fun and empowering experience, the FemSport Challenge is an event you won’t want to miss!

Sustainability Expo presented by Grant Thornton LLP

TRU is proud to be the official Eco Day sponsor of the 2023 Memorial Cup. Show your support for sustainability in your community and come to the Sustainability Expo and learn more about sustainability initiatives in Kamloops.

This free event will take place on June 2nd from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the east end of Riverside Park right across from the Sandman Centre. This event encourages the community to get together and learn about environmental sustainability.  There will be 17 mostly local organizations attending to help teach and inform the community about the steps they are taking to help Kamloops become a more sustainable city. And there will be free popcorn and cookies too!
