Throwback NightThe Baby Leafs are back

The Baby Leafs are back
The Regiment hits the ice in St. John's Maple Leafs jerseys from the 2001 to 2005 era as Mary Brown's Centre celebrates 25 years.
Back on the ice where it ended
The AHL Maple Leafs called St. John's home from 1991 to 2005, moving from Memorial Stadium into the brand-new Mile One Centre in 2001. That building is now Mary Brown's Centre, and it turns 25 this season.
To kick off the celebration, the Newfoundland Regiment is bringing the Baby Leafs back for one night. On Thursday, November 5, the Regiment hosts the Moncton Wildcats wearing St. John's Maple Leafs jerseys from the team's final years in the city.
“When this building opened, the Baby Leafs were the team that filled it. Twenty-five years later, seeing a new generation wear that jersey on the same ice is something special. We want to bring back the fans who were there from the start and share that history with the families just getting to know it.”
Glenn Stanford, Regiment President and former Vice-President of the St. John's Maple Leafs
“For 25 years, this building has been where Newfoundland and Labrador comes together, and hockey has been part of its story from day one. Bringing the Maple Leafs jersey back to this ice is a fitting way to celebrate that history.”
Brent Meade, CEO, St. John's Sports and Entertainment
