Theede leads Titan to victory
Bathurst, NB, Friday, September 24th, 2016 – Competing in the second half of a double header against the Screaming Eagles in Cape Breton, the Acadie-Bathurst Titan swept the series on the strength of a three to one victory.
A single player’s name was on everyone’s lips at the conclusion of the game, and it was Dawson Theede’s. Indeed, the Titan forward picked up a point on all three of his team’s goals, finding the back of the net twice himself while also picking up one assist. Theede came ever so close to completing the hat trick in the final moments of the game, but his shot missed the empty net by mere inches. Jonathan Bourcier completed the scoring for the Titan while Jordan Ty Fournier answered back for the Screaming Eagles.
Between the pipes, Kevin Mandolese turned away 18 shots in the Cape Breton net while Reilly Pickard recorded his second win of the season for the Titan with a 19 save performance.
When the names “Theede, Maher, Bourcier” rhyme with “Tic, Tac, Toe”
The Titan’s first goal of the game was nothing short of poetry in motion. Indeed, Dawson Theede completed a cross-ice pass to Jordan Maher, whom then passed the puck to an open Jonathan Bourcier on the other side of the net. It was a passing play that was not without reminiscing a former Titan line…
The Big “BOOMulong” Theory

The Titan defenseman and on-ice warrior, Nicolas Dumulong, began his season in full force, or rather, with a bang. Indeed, after having dazed the Screaming Eagles with four body checks the previous night, Dumulong added six more tonight. Future opponents’ best be warned, as Dumulong is already in mid-season form.
Pickard picks up where he left off
After having established himself as one of the best netminders in the league last season, Reilly Pickard has found a way to raise his game yet again at the start of this new campaign. Indeed, the Titan’s masked man boasts a 1.50 goals against average and a .933 save percentage after 120 minutes of play.
Miromanov momentarily stunned
It is worth noting that Daniil Miromanov was forced to leave the game in the second frame with an apparent injury. He was however able to rejoin his team in the third period.
Opening Night – Friday, September 30th
On Friday September 30th, the Titan’s Opening Night festivities will begin at 5pm, as the Jamboree welcomes the region’s youngest hockey fans with inflatable games, a BBQ and on-location music from CKLE, the Titan’s official radio station!
The game against the Charlottetown Islanders will begin at 7pm, but not before fans are treated to a special players’ presentation. Indeed, seven musicians from the Tutta Musica and Bathurst Music Chamber Festival will be on location to give our Defenders of the Bay a very special welcome.
