Tic…Tac…Toe…VICTORY!
This afternoon, the Titan was hosting the Gatineau Olympiques and yes the Tic-Tac-Toe line was present.
The first period was difficult for the Titan who took a while to find their rhythm. The Olympiques opened the scoring with only 50 seconds played in the game. Christophe Losier, his 13th, tied things up in the middle of the period with a power play goal. The score was 1-1 after 20 minutes of play.
We were treated to a scoring festival in the second with a total of 6 goals. Gatineau scored twice in the first half of the period to take a 3-1 lead, however, our locals came back with goals from Jordan Murray, his 5th, Matthew Bissonnette, his 32nd, and Zach O’Brien, his 36th, to take a 4-3 lead. Gatineau was able to tie things up before the end of the period to make it a 4-4 score after 40 minutes.
In the third frame Zach O’Brien, hid 37th and second of the game, gave the Titan a 5-4 lead with only 5:55 remaining in the game. Toward the end of the period the Titan were called for a penalty and the Olympiques took advantage of that powerplay to tie things up again 5-5, forcing an overtime period.
Matthew Bissonnette played the hero with only 43 seconds remaining, scoring his 33rd of the year and 2nd of the game.
Robert Steeves had an ordinary game stopping 18 of the 23 shots he faced. Jordan Murray finished the game with a differential of +4 and 4 hits.
The famous Tic-Tac-Toe line of the Titan again had a strong game. After a 10 points performance on Friday they did even better this afternoon with 11 points. Zach O’Brien and Matthew Bissonnette finished the game with 2 goals and 2 assists each, while Sébastien Trudeau picked up 3 assists. Jordan Murray and Christophe Losier each had a goal and an assist.
Acadie-Bathurst will only play one game this week as they are hosting the Shawinigan Cataractes Saturday, January 14th at 7 PM.
