Element named to Team QMJHL for Canada-Russia Series
BATHURST – The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced today the roster that will represent the league in the 2019 CIBC Canada-Russia Series. Acadie-Bathurst Titan forward Shawn Element was among the # players selected to Team QMJHL’s roster.
Element has been the Titan’s best skater so far this season having recorded nine points in eight games with a +2 rating. The 19-year-old forward joined the team during the off-season through a trade with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, who originally selected him ninth overall in the 2016 QMJHL Draft.
Team QMJHL will be coached by London Knights’ head coach Dale Hunter, who will also coach Canada’s National Junior Team at the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championship. For the QMJHL portion of the series, Louis Robitaille (Tigres) and Josh Dixon (Sea Dogs) will serve as assistants.
