Canada beats Switzerland 10-1 at WU18
Canada continued their winning streak at the 2013 IIHF World Under-18 Championship with a big 10-1 win over Switzerland.
Zach Nastasiuk of the Owen Sound Attack and Sam Bennett of the Kingston Frontenacs each scored first period goals and finished the game with three points for Canada.
Morgan Kilimchuk (Regina Pats) also finished with three points including a goal and two assists, while Carter Verhaeghe (Niagara IceDogs) and Shea Theodore (Seattle Thunderbirds) had three assists each.
Josh Morrissey (Prince Albert Raiders) and Laurent Dauphin (Chicoutimi Sagueneens) each scored two goals for Canada, with Connor McDavid (Erie Otters) and Nick Ritchie (Peterborough Petes) also having multi-point games with two assists each.
Spencer Martin earned the win in goal making 20 saves.
Mirco Muller of the Everett Silvertips had an assist for Switzerland.
